Our top tips for legal New Year resolutions

With the shops now playing many familiar Christmas tunes and lots of people in Staines focussing on Christmas there are those who are no doubt thinking about resolutions for 2017.

So here at Dale and Newbery, we thought we would share some legal New Year Resolutions that we hope will really benefit everyone reading this and more besides.

Far from the usual resolutions of losing a bit of weight and getting fit, these tips are something the legal community have been trying to explain for many years, and as legal experts in Staines, we wish to reach out to the community with a message that we hope gives something to think about for next year.

We ask that during 2017 everyone should see a solicitor in order to make a Will and also a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA). LPAs are vital if your health deteriorates in later life and you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself.  An LPA will allow for your wishes to be carried out by a family member or someone chosen by you to make decisions on your behalf.

This advice is hard to argue with, and the public really do need to think about protecting themselves in this way, yet too few take the advice.

Making a Will and considering an LPA gives legal protection for families, and loved ones and can ensure there are fewer issues to deal with in later life or when a loved one passes away.

So open your diary now and make a date to come and see a solicitor at Dale & Newbery as now is a good a time to give peace of mind both to you and your family.

We hope you will follow our legal tips and equally we would like to take this opportunity to wish you well in the run up to the festive break and throughout the year ahead
